Going back in time

As I get time, I'm going back to post from the start of Sam's life. As I don't have much time right this minute I thought I'd start with some late pregnancy pictures.

I can't remember the exact day we carved pumpkins so this was around 24-25 weeks.

This was at my Mom's house for the shower/ Thanksgiving dinner last November. I was 26 weeks.

This one was a few week before Christmas. I was 31 weeks.

This was taken right after Christmas when my Mother came to Bloomington. I was 33 weeks.

The SIP baby shower in mid January. I was 35 weeks. Not visible, all the food that I dropped on my shirt. My coworkers know how to feed a pregnant lady.

Late January at around 37 and 38 weeks.

39 weeks

Taken on my due date, Feb 15, 2011

Taken on the day that I went into labor, February 16, 2011.
At the hospital, on the evening of February 16, 2011.

and then there was Sam. :)

The last year

The last year has brought more changes to our lives than we've ever faced. I'm proud to say that we have survived so far and we are so excited about where life is going. Perhaps some catching up is in order?

Before I get started on other things, Sam will be getting his own posts. Fear not, Friends! You shall get your Sam fix in posts to come.

When last I posted an update it was in October, 2010. Wasn't that just yesterday?? Life in Bloomington has been good to the Olson's. Brian has been settling into his new job and is very happy. He's been traveling a lot which I do not love, but I see Brian succeeding in his career and loving what he's doing. Most of his trips are short over night stays so Sam and I don't have long to miss him. Brian did graduate in December 2010 with his Phd and I am as proud as I could possibly be that Dr. Olson is loving his job and doing so well at it.

My own career is going well. I passed the Lactation Certification exam last year so I am officially Anna Olson, RN, IBCLC. Fancy, right? Right now I am only working 2 days a week and it couldn't be more perfect. I get just a little time out of the house to be a professional, and to use my lactation knowledge to help out other Mom's at the doctor's office, but I don't have to spend much time away from Sam. Its the best of the Working Mom's world and the Stay At Home Mom's World.

We have bought a new house this spring! The house in Nashville finally sold in December, and we closed on our house in Bloomington on April 29, 2011. The house is wonderful and we are slowly trying to put our own mark on it. Slowly. Do you know how hard it is to paint with a newborn? I don't think that's going to get any easier as Sam becomes a toddler. Each week we do a little something here and there and it's becoming more and more "ours".

Twenty Three Weeks

Today was an OB checkup and I received a clean bill of health. Here is another bathroom mirror picture of my belly and me.

I'm feeling him moving around on a regular basis, but Brian has yet to feel the movement. I don't think it will be long before he does. My boy had a good strong heartbeat today, but it took the doctor several minutes to find because he was sitting low. It's no wonder I have to pee all the time.

Also, in other news- We are going to be in Tennessee for shower and Thanksgiving celebration on Saturday November 13, 2010. Location and time still to be decided. I have started working on a baby registry at Target which can be found here. I'm sure Emily Post has something to say about promoting your own gift registries, but I know of no better way to inform the people in my life all at once. Heaven forbid my boy miss out on goodies from loved ones because my sister does not have your address. Another word on gifts- We have in Bloomington a Target and Walmart, and within 1 hour from us a Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby. We are going to be registered at Target and Babies R Us but will welcome gift cards to any of the above stores, or to Amazon.com.  I would also welcome any Nashville sports themed items for baby. It's impossible to register for those things in Indiana. Anything Nashville Predators, Tennessee Titans, Vanderbilt, or Nashville Sounds would be most welcome. Please forgive me if you find my gift begging to be as tacky as all the etiquette books say.  Gifts are not required to send love to my sweet baby boy.
