The last year

The last year has brought more changes to our lives than we've ever faced. I'm proud to say that we have survived so far and we are so excited about where life is going. Perhaps some catching up is in order?

Before I get started on other things, Sam will be getting his own posts. Fear not, Friends! You shall get your Sam fix in posts to come.

When last I posted an update it was in October, 2010. Wasn't that just yesterday?? Life in Bloomington has been good to the Olson's. Brian has been settling into his new job and is very happy. He's been traveling a lot which I do not love, but I see Brian succeeding in his career and loving what he's doing. Most of his trips are short over night stays so Sam and I don't have long to miss him. Brian did graduate in December 2010 with his Phd and I am as proud as I could possibly be that Dr. Olson is loving his job and doing so well at it.

My own career is going well. I passed the Lactation Certification exam last year so I am officially Anna Olson, RN, IBCLC. Fancy, right? Right now I am only working 2 days a week and it couldn't be more perfect. I get just a little time out of the house to be a professional, and to use my lactation knowledge to help out other Mom's at the doctor's office, but I don't have to spend much time away from Sam. Its the best of the Working Mom's world and the Stay At Home Mom's World.

We have bought a new house this spring! The house in Nashville finally sold in December, and we closed on our house in Bloomington on April 29, 2011. The house is wonderful and we are slowly trying to put our own mark on it. Slowly. Do you know how hard it is to paint with a newborn? I don't think that's going to get any easier as Sam becomes a toddler. Each week we do a little something here and there and it's becoming more and more "ours".
